Would you endorse the temp removal of the child |
Yes, being brough up seeing parents use smack is abusive in itself, and therefore, it is justified |

Yes, but the worry would be what to do about other addicts, such as drinkers... |

You would not remove the child for the observing the intake of smack, alone. Only if there was abuse. |

As a parent of a daughter who is a drug addict, I can say that I am indeed
grateful for a government that had the ability to remove my beautiful
seven year old grandaughter from her crack addicted mother and her
heroin-nethadone addicted father.
They were both given four years to get clean but could not because they
wanted to use drugs more than have their child. When the court
asked me if I wanted custody of my granddaughter, I said "no."
I put the child first. If I took custody that would mean that her pain would continue the rest of her life if she stayed with me. Her parents were so
sick and incapable of taking care of their own needs that I knew they
would constantly be harrassing me to see their child.
Do I know where she is? No. She told me of the day of her adoption
by letter and said she was really happy about it. How could I want to
take custody as a relative of this child when to do so would be an
act of cruelty on my part?
