| Well i must admit football is still my biggest attachment, and the world cup makes welcomed change to watching BCFC. It has to be the best competition in the world, it so nice seeing USA get taken to peices by the Czechs, class loved every second of it. |

I'm sure that whoever wins will not be a football team but a buch of consumer oriented companies... They always win, regardless. Any other bets. 
BTW it is "the biggest denomination" -- spectator football. It should be included in the list.

Why are brazil argentina italy germany holland etc etc all under one heading, this is possibly the worst poll ever.
And Candrodaya you need to cheer up a bit, do you have to put a downer on everything, with your the real winners are consumer oriented companies post, jeez companies make money out of everything, otherwise they go bankrupt, even the company you work for makes money. but the best bit about the world cup is that it doesn't have to cost you anything, i've not spent a penny more than i usually would, less if anything.

What are you talking about. All the investment the Government puts into the sport facilities DOES cost all the taxpayers. They should have a separate tax for football fans.
And it IS all about brand advertisment. You didn;t spend a penny... but your brain is damaged by the ads. If not give us at least some indication:-)

You're paying in a different way. Advertising is tricky, it seeps into everything until people don't even know they're being advertised to. People even pay MORE money to wear advertisments on their clothes - Nike shirts cost three or four times as much as a normal white shirt just because it's got a logo on it. You're paying them to carry their ad.
Most people are so under the spell of mindless consumerism that they are happy to be the corporations' slaves.
Advertising has gone from a fairly straightforward brand push to something far more sinister. Basically it's been like this:
30's - Buy this product, it's good!
50's Early 60's - Buy this product, it's good, and makes you look good!
70's - Buy this product, it makes you look good!
80's and 90's - Buy this product, you won't look good without it!

Because Dogfish it was mostly done in jest, plus i just couldn't be bothered to write in loads of teams, i just thought if anyone showed any interst they would write there team in, saves me time,, i don't even think england will win it to be honest, we don't even know our natural formation.
Who cares about all the advertisments its a gotta be one of the greatest global games in history, and besides the quality and intensity of the game still has the orginal passion of pure competitive spirit.
Nice to see the devotees with ther usual kill joy attitude. 
Where you from CC Ukraine or something like that, no wonder your bitter about this comp.
But i suppose i will get a reply such as the soul is not from this world.
All said in harmless jest.
BTW i was tipped to be a pro when i was a teenager, i wonder where i would be now if i had stuck with it and if i would have become a devotee. |

There is no such a thing as Irish devotees, Korean devotees and Indian devotee.
